Viaje a Tailandia y Camboya Day VI

Today´s plan was awesome!, it was very impressive in all senses.
After getting to Cambodia, we met a very nice taxy driver that speaks english quite well, he taught us a lot of stuff in just 15 min ride. We had some rest at the hotel  and woke up early to decide what to do. We  decided to go from south to north of Siem Reap and visit the places on our way..  Here is a map.

Desayuno rico antes de irnos!
Some nice breakfast before departure!

We first found a tuk tuk, the driver is a very nice guy and knows some english. He is also very smiling and respectful. He brought some water for us for the entire day.

And we left!, we first went to a floating village called Chong kneas. We observed one of the poor parts in Siem Reap. It is a bit sad and shocking. There are many children begging money in the road, others work fishing since they are like 5 yeas old.

And after about 10km we got there and took the boat to the floating village. The journey was nice at the begininng.

According to the boat driver, it means slow down!

The village is in the south of Siem Reap over a river with the same name. During summer the river dries out and people have to move their houses to the lake. The main reason for they to live there is that they dont have to pay taxes. Most families live out of fishing and a few live out of the turism.

También hay una escuela flotante...
There is also a floating school...

Y despues a devolvernos!
And then go back...

And then we got to Angkor Wat. This is a complex of temples that were built between 9 and 15 century in the Khmer empire (now Cambodia, Thailand, Laos and part of Vietnan). Here is a brief description, there is more information in the link below :) .

Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Stretching over some 400 km2, including forested area, Angkor Archaeological Park contains the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century. They include the famous Temple of Angkor Wat and, at Angkor Thom, the Bayon Temple with its countless sculptural decorations. UNESCO has set up a wide-ranging programme to safeguard this symbolic site and its surroundings. Copied from   http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/668

Before going inside, we got something to eat as Andrés was feeling dizzy (He thought it was not important to eat for 24 hours because he didnt feel hungry).

Primero llegamos al templo  Preah Khan. He aquí  las fotos
We first got to Preah Khan temple. Here are the pictures..

Y después llegamos  a Angkor Thom and Bayon!... (Ver )
And then Angkor Thom and Bayon!... (See map)

Y yo aburrida esperando a Andrés porque estaba enfermo!
I was waiting for my brother as he was sick!

And then we headed to the piece of art: Angkor Wat, no words to describe the magic and beauty of this place, pictures do it better..

And now, we sadly had to leave after seeing the sunset...

Y el baño!
And a toilet!

And some food, the hottest chilli sauce I´ve ever tried.

Y Andrés de verdad estaba enfermo
And Andrés was sick

His temperature was 39 degrees.

La historia continuará...
